Two Girls, Two Rings!

Wouldn’t it be awesome...fitting...HISTORIC if two lesbians won a honeymoon from Brides Magazine?

Let me explain...

My beautiful Mia and I proposed to each other, soon after same-sex couples won the right to marry in New York state. We always knew we’d get married, even if we had to cross state lines to make it legal (hello, and thank you, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, DC, and Iowa! I would thank you also, New Hampshire, but I think you’re about to take the right away--boo). It makes a difference to be perfectly legal in the place where you live, and we love it.

Our dilemma was how to do it. There were two girls, we both wanted rings, we both wanted to ask the question...we decided to choreograph it, at least a little. We chose a day, but kept the proposal details a secret from each other. Because what girl doesn’t love a surprise??

You can read more about our proposal story on the Brides Magazine website. They’re paying for a honeymoon to Fiji for the best proposal story. Please vote for us and “Love” our story! It would be historic if TWO brides won this contest! Please feel free to forward and share--thank you!

PS: You’re gay. You have a mother. If she’d be interested in participating in an art exhibition by anonymously providing information about your coming-out (looking for positive, negative, and everything-in-between) please send her this link to the survey: http://svy.mk/tdHvRv

Thanks in advance!
