The Boy Who Made Me Laugh

This is the picture of the boy who made me laugh, the boy who made school a bearable place to be, who made every day worth enjoying.

This is the picture of the boy I called a friend, who I secretly crushed on, who I openly admired, who I smiled at when I saw him or heard his voice.

This is the picture of the boy everyone wanted to be around, the one who everyone wanted to hear tell that one dirty joke we wanted to hear, the one who we HAD to invite to the party.

This is the picture of the boy who would come to my side and ask if I was alright after the bullies finished with me, the one who would stand up and defend my right to be different, my right to be me.

This is the picture of the man I never got to know, the man who would become a father, the man who loved his little girl.

This is the picture of the man who still enjoyed life, who loved and laughed, who grew up to be a responsible man.

This is the picture of the man who, even as an estranged friend, I still crush on and think about when I am feeling down and need a pick up.

This is the picture of the boy/man whose life was cut short because he did the right thing and stood up for what he believed in, who wanted to make sure the world we lived in was safe for his daughter and those he loved.

This is a devotion to someone who was ... IS loved by many and missed by all, whose life was taken away too soon; who is my friend to eternity.
